Job Brief

Our home improvement company is looking for a motivated warehouse worker to receive and send goods to and from our warehouse.

You will be organised, a good communicator, be able to think on your toes and see the big picture and be punctual.
You will adhere to applicable safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures and keep your workplace neat and orderly.  You must be able to act organised and follow directions to succeed.  The ideal candidates are motivated, diligent and excellent problem-solvers.

Experience

  • On-the-job training is provided.

Tasks:

  • Build pallets.
  • Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or with basic material handling equipment.
  • Operate various equipment to load, unload, and move materials and products.
  • Ship orders
  • Pick orders and stock.
  • Weigh materials and goods.
  • Make labels and attach them to goods.
  • Provide customer service.
  • Wrap goods.
  • Pack and unpack goods.
  • Sort, crate, and stack goods.
  • Install, lash, and secure goods.
  • Store cargo and materials
  • Transport and distribute materials and goods.
  • Organize and maintain inventory.
  • Operate computerised inventory control systems.
  • Handle hazardous products and storage.

Additional Tasks:

  • Deliver building materials and supplies to customers.
  • Move household appliances and furniture onto and off moving trucks or vans.
  • Perform other material handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing, and unpacking.
  • Operate forklifts, loaders, and other equipment to transport materials to and from vehicles and loading docks and to store and retrieve materials in warehouses.
  • Assist in opening containers and crates, filling warehouse orders, taking inventory, and weighing and checking materials.
  • Offload building materials being delivered to our warehouse/lumber yard.
  • Keep warehouse/lumberyard stocked and safe.
  • Complete shipments by processing and loading orders into customer vehicles.
  • Prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders.
  • Enforce inventory controls by collecting stock location orders and printing requests.
  • Complete reports by entering the required information.
