Job Brief

We seek a full-time baker to join our Team. Prior experience as a Pastry chef or baker is required. You must have exceptional skill in a wide range of baked delicacies. You should be able to function in a fast-paced setting and be effective, alert, and foresighted



  • Completion of secondary school is usually required.
  • Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience
  • Baking and pastry arts/baker/pastry chef


  •  3 years to less than 5 years
  • On-the-job training may be provided.

Work setting:  Bake Shop.


  • Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods; batters for muffins, cookies and cakes; and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Bake mixed doughs and batters.
  • Frost and decorate cakes or other baked goods.
  • Prepare special orders.
  • Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff.
  • Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods.
  • Draw up production schedules.
  • Train staff
  • Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
  • Schedule staff
  • Inspect kitchen and food service areas.
  • Operate machinery.
  • Hire and dismiss staff.
  • Organize and maintain inventory.
  • Oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods.
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
  • Ensure the quality of products meets established standards.

  • Must be familiar with using and maintaining equipment and tolls to make baked goods, including mixers, ovens, rolling pins and baking sheets.
